Eve exists for the love of photography. It all started with a realisation that photographic culture is very strong in certain parts of the world, while in others photographic art is hard to come by - photobooks even more so. 

The eve platform also acknowledges that most photographic galleries + arthouse publishers are small operations, run on an elegant blend of connoisseurship, expertise + passion that is increasingly moving online.

So we wanted to create a multilingual platform that brings all these players together; that celebrates photographic culture from all around the world, providing a focus for artists + galleries as well as collectors + all those who love photography.

what is evephoto.io?  evephoto.io is a curated global marketplace for fine art photography + photobooks. We connect collectors with professional galleries + independent publishers worldwide, offering authenticated, limited edition artworks from emerging + established photographic artists + exquisite small print run photobooks. Unlike general marketplaces, we specialise exclusively in photography.

how is eve different from other art platforms? We focus exclusively on fine art photography + photobooks, ensure transparent pricing + work only with vetted international galleries + publishers. Every item meets professional standards for authenticity, condition + presentation, with a 12-month authenticity warranty on attributed artworks. i'm new to collecting photography. where should I start? The beginning is an exciting place to be! Start with our curated collections, browse by style + read our snapshot stories + follow us on social media for ideas. Consider your space, budget + the subjects or styles that appeal to you in other areas like cinema, fashion or interior design. Feel free to reach out to us if you have specific requirements.

do I have to be a collector? No! You might want a specific artwork for a particular location, or a photobook for a beautiful gift. You might fall in love with the work of a particular artist, or be amazed by a classic photobook that takes you to another world. It can be a spontaneous thing. Photography can change your way of seeing the world - again + again. It's very inspiring. That's why many people do become collectors. what should I consider when buying photography? On the eve platform we provide the full range of information about each artwork + photobook that a seasoned collector would want to know. If you're beginning to collect photography, review our listings to get a feel for the way to think about a photographic work of art. Think about the edition size (smaller editions often hold value better), the photographer's career trajectory + print size. Consider factors like lighting in your space + other artworks you own. what's the difference between a vintage print + a contemporary print? Vintage prints are made during the photographer's lifetime, often from the original period. Contemporary prints are made later but may still be authorized by the photographer or estate. Both can have significant value depending on the artist + circumstances.

how do you determine pricing? Our gallery + publisher partners set pricing based on factors including the photographer's reputation, edition size, print quality, provenance + current market demand. We provide transparent pricing with all costs included at checkout.

can I negotiate prices? As above, pricing is set by our gallery + publisher partners. While listed prices are firm, you can contact us to inquire about available works or discuss specific needs.

what payment methods do you accept?  We accept major credit cards + the secure payment methods specified at checkout. All prices are in US dollars (USD).

how do I care for photographic works? Keep photographs away from direct sunlight, maintain stable temperature and humidity and use archival framing materials. Consult with professional framers experienced in fine art photography for best results.
